| Nature of Business | Zambia National Commercial Bank PLC (Zanaco) is a registered commercial bank whose principal activity is to provide bank ing and financial services in Zambia. Zanaco is one of the top tier banks in Zambia in terms of asset size at K 2,110 bi llion, deposits from customers at K 1,799 billion and loans and advances to customers at K 797 billion as at 31 December 2007. The Company is a full service retail bank and currently has 55 branches/agencies, and 58 ATMs. Zanaco was ori ginally formed by the Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ) on 21 August 1969 in Lusaka to operate as a state owned enterprise. Zanaco was partially privatised in April 2007 when Rabobank, from the Netherlands, acquired 49% of GRZ’s interest in Zanaco. In addition Rabobank and Zanaco entered into a Management Services contract. |
